December Dreams

Festive Greetings to you all!

This is my favourite time of year. I just love the build up to Christmas, the excitement, the gift wrapping ~ decorating and singing (sometimes badly depending on the amount of Sherry…) and Mum’s unbeatable Mince Pies.  Of course, being in the southern hemisphere, we celebrate in blistering heat, but we still attempt the roast, trimmings and copious amounts of Brussel Sprouts.  Luckily, we can cool down in the pool late afternoon. Absolute heaven. It is not quite the same as snow dusted street lights, and lawns that look like icing sugar has been sifted down from the sky though. Hand on heart, those pictures in my mind make my heart skip a beat.

As we bring a very world-on-edge year to a close I for one will be very resolute in not taking any bitterness, anger or so-called “baggage” into the new year.  It may sound very cliché, but that is my intent.

Should you wish to try or do a ceremony of “letting go” you will need a selection of Rosemary, Caraway and Lavender leaves/springs, a clear crystal and a rose quartz. Should your ceremony include letting go of anger, resentment or bitterness, you will need fresh slices (not quarters) of Lemon and runny honey too.

Place the herbs/sprigs in a circle in the bottom of the kitchen or laundry sink. In the middle, place the sliced lemon (if you are using them) Hold both crystals in your left hand and moving your right hand anti-clockwise in a circle mid-air, say “I let go of all that hurts me. I let go of all that angers me. I forgive those who have hurt me. I let go of everything that I do not need. I let go of all that keeps me from living in purest love and light” Say these three times. Then, if using the lemon and honey, keeping the crystals in your left hand, lightly drizzle the honey over the lemon saying, “I replace bitterness with sweetness” repeating three times.  Step back, separate the crystals so you have the rose quartz in the left hand and the clear crystal in the right hand. Hug yourself and take a few moments to stand in the magical silence.  This ceremony may be performed up to three times during the month of December.  Should you not see December as the year end/January as the New Year, try the ceremony on or around the time of year that suits your beliefs.  Many people do the ceremony on the eve of their birthdays too.

Bask in the Full Super Moon on 3rd December and remember to enjoy the Winter/Summer Solstice on 21st December. The 21st, 22nd and 23rd are the power days of the month. So, do take care of what you say and how you say it!

I leave you with blessings of peace, joy and harmony over the festive season, and if you are travelling, (Earth and beyond) I wish you safe travels.

Blessed Be,

Samantha.
